Collectively are going through a time of upheaval and change. Astrologers claim the source of this upheaval rests on the accumulation of seven Pluto, Uranus Squares, the last of which occurred this past Monday, March 16, 2015. With the final Pluto Uranus square ramping up from March 11 28, 2015, we are coming to a grand finale of one of the most intense three year cycles history has seen in a while. Pluto and Uranus only align in a tense square every 80 years, so this has been a profound period of intensity. Have you been feeling it?
We have seen an eruption occurring both socially and politically. The situation in Ferguson continues to fester and its police chief recently resigned. There have been the Mattress Project campus demonstrations against rape. Women are risking their reputations to speak out in the Bill Cosby rape accusations. While billionaires are booming the Middle Class is getting poorer and more vocal about it. Conservatives are winning back control. There is an undeniable “power to the people” energy afoot (Uranus) clashing against a polarizing ruling class (Pluto).
I’ve also felt this change personally and have seen it in my clients and friends. They are talking about needing to change old patterns. They are determined to uproot and heal their shadow sides and confront their vulnerabilities. Bottom line is, they realize that the old status quo has not been serving them and want change.
Cosmically, according to astrologers, shadowy Pluto and freedom- fighting Uranus have been engaged in a three year tug of war between the contrasts of old versus new. We’re all being forced to examine our deepest values and motives. We know we need to open our minds - to adapt and try a new approach. At the same time, will new vines produce better grapes than the old just because they’re new. Some rules were not made to be broken-but figuring out which ones to keep is not an easy process.
On a personal level, for many people it’s like the rug has be unceremoniously pulled out from under them. Attempts at personal and spiritual growth have been challenging, and not much has come easily. Facing your shadow side and trying to find your life’s purpose has been complicated with murkiness and lack of clarity. That’s because collectively and personally we’ve been caught between these two powerful opposing forces –Pluto and Uranus. You may have already found that rash moves and thoughtless actions have ended with unpleasant and even embarrassing consequences.
This is a time fraught with actions and choices that can come at a cost. This is also a time for learning some powerful lessons, if we don’t sink into the victim state and instead stay open to learning what is offered. Here are a few suggestions for how you can navigate this.
Don’t let progress turn into destruction.
Fast-moving Uranus is about change. In the quest for progress, however, this force can make us skim over the details and rush into reform or pursuing change at all costs. But when change happens that quickly, something valuable can get lost or destroyed in the process. Therefore, this is a time to act only after plenty of thought and strategic planning. There are reasons why some things have existed for ages. Change for the sake of change -tearing down the old to make room for the new - can be destructive and costly.
Stop before taking action and questions your motives
If you are one of the fire signs, like I am, this is definitely not the time for rash obsessive action. This has already cost me one important relationship. I would hate for anyone else to pay this kind of a cost for thoughtless action. Instead, stop, step back, take a few breathes, and ask yourself some very important questions.
WHY?
Why am I doing this?
Why do I want this so badly?
If you’re fixated (a Pluto issue) or obsessed with things going a certain way, ask why! Pluto is about death, but he’s also about rebirth. So if you’re going to tear down an institution in your life, make sure that you’re doing it for the right reasons…whatever those are. Don’t rush. If you’re uncertain, allow yourself the time to really mull it over and do thoughtful soul searching.
The mysterious underworld
Remember, Pluto rules the underworld. Something might be going on at a deep level within that isn’t apparent yet. You may feel like you’re spinning your wheels or wasting time when you aren’t. Often things need to ‘marinate’ and ‘stew’ for a bit. Everything has its process - and it’s time and season. Watch out for the impatient Uranus who may propel you into a hasty action without giving time for a process to mature.
Divine timing
Manifesting is a powerful tool but don’t get discouraged and jaded when your visualizations don’t materialize on demand. The Universe, the Divine, or your Higher Power, knows what is best for you and WHEN! Divine timing is where it’s at now. So be patient, think things through, have clear well thought out intentions, and trust you will know when it is time to act.
