First Seminary Graduation March 25, 2015

An African Proverb says, "It takes a village to raise a child".  Sacred Foundations has been blessed with our own small village that has worked tenaciously to birth a non-profit Spiritual Center and a Graduate and Undergraduate Divinity Program.

Reverend Sandy Clark, D.D. opened our first graduation with a beautiful prayer and lovely candle ceremony.

Reverend Clark also serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors.

March 25, 2015 we had the great pleasure to award our first degree to Reverend John Busch for his Doctor of Divinity.

Reverend John Busch holds a Master of Theology Degree from UCM.
He has served  as  a practicing minister, hospital chaplain, and taught at Solar Cross “A New Beginning, Church and Postsecondary School of Wellness.

Reverend Busch has been a Red Cross Instructor Trainer, taught first aid and
first responder classes, and served as a practicing EMT. Reverend Busch is also a Certified Reiki Master and certified reflexologist.

Reverend Busch has spent years of study in the Rosicrucian Mystical Tradition.
His life has been one of spiritual study and he has been involved in learning
multiple religious traditions including spiritualism, Christianity, Islam, Judaism and Nature based religions.

John has spent the last year working in conjunction with Reverend DeBry to create,
develop and format the Graduate and Undergraduate Divinity Program.  Thanks
to his tireless work Sacred Foundations Divinity School was able to attain our,
California Board of Postsecondary religious exemption #27745 and our
ACI Accreditation.  Reverend Busch, D.D. chose this as his Doctor of Divinity
dissertation.

The term doctorate comes from the Latin
"docere" to teach.  Its origin came from Christianity and referred to Apostles, elders and those who taught and interpreted the Bible.

The adoption of cap, gown and hood was from early drafty and cold monasteries. Monks who usually had partially shaved or bald heads needed them for warmth.

Later in the Middle Ages universities adopted them as most were also drafty and cold and they facilitated warmth.
